I decided to do my MS fundraiser as a random spur of the moment thing one evening, I told my husband and my family about it, which they weren’t too happy initially as it would involve a lot of planning which would probably tire me out more than normal.

Fast forward 5 months, I’d created a race night, bake sale and a raffle with over 70 prizes donated from various companies and small business owners which I was so thankful & grateful for.

I’d spoke with a local venue, explained that I was diagnosed with MS in 2022 and that I was looking to host a fundraiser night to raise money for MS Together and they allowed me to have the venue for free, same for the DJ and also the man who ran the race night for me – he does various charity race nights which brings in lots of cash!

People got involved by purchasing horses and if the horse won, they would win a prize/money! On the last race the prize money was £100 and the person who won this actually donated the money straight to MS Together!

I’d had help from friends on the day setting up. Neighbours, friends and family baked yummy goods for me to sell and I created my own sweet cones as I couldn’t leave the kids out! This alone brought in £135!

We sold out of 3 raffle books, which raised over £900!

I had organised my event through Eventbrite and sold tickets for adults and children, and on the night we had over 95 people attend with a mixture of people living with MS, friends, family and others.

It was an amazing night and I’m so proud of what I achieved! Just over £2000 was raised that evening for MS Together, and I’m so thankful I was able to put something like this together and help this fantastic charity!
